Respect for Others - Artelia's HR Policy

Conflict of Interest

  • Example scenarios that involve C.O.I.

Corruption

  • Zero tolerance

  • Ask self for gifts. Are they reasonable, occasional, professional, public, not creating interest...

  • Three key principles: Company liability, 3rd party liability, extraterritorial (embargoes, sanctions to other countries, etc.)

Consequence of Non-compliance with Regulations

  • Exclusions (banning) of company from participating in future bids

  • Being subject to monitoring

  • Bad reputation (and being fined) - Airbus bribery example

  • Termination of existing contracts

  • Fines (both companies and individuals)

Fraud

  • Deliberate deceit is severely sanctioned within Artelia. We invoice our time exactly as recorded

  • Cybercrime, phishing, etc. Be vigilant.

Some recommendations

  • Respect contractual commitments and laws

  • Act transparent

  • No hiding or forging information

  • If in doubt, ask manager or ethics manager

Third Parties

  • Before engaging a 3rd part, conduct due diligence in advance - "Providers and Partners Evaluation" database on MyArt can be helpful.

  • Remind all third parties of Artelia's ethics policies (communicate or include ethics clause in contract), ask for their ethics policies

  • Red flags for partners 🚩 : The partner is imposed by the client, limited experience, requesting unusual payment conditions, shows signs of non-compliance with Artelia's ethics guidelines

  • Red flags for clients 🚩 : Country is low rated in Transparency International ranking, client is opaque, strange payment terms, allegations exist against the client

  • Project logbook: allows tracking of risks

Advice and Whistleblowing

  • Don't keep your concerns to yourself

  • Report suspected fraud

  • Report to Manager, Director of HR, General Counsel, Ethics and Integrity Manager, ethics email

I shall learn more about the Project Logbook on MyArt portal. Improvement suggestion: The grammar of some of the questions in the end were overly complicated creating confusion on the subject matter to be learned.
